The birthday show might have been electric, but tonight's show was even better. Barry exploded onto the stage. He seemed to be in a fantastic mood. Who remembers that cute little skipping dance step that Barry used to do back in the beginning? Well, that's what we got tonight during It's a Miracle. I never thought I would get to see that again! Talk about setting the mood for the night!
The audience was extremely lively and loud. Barry took advantage of it throughout the night. He did make mention of his birthday show being so great. And he also mentioned it being his 43rd birthday!

Somewhere in the Night again got everyone stirred up. Of the songs in the opening medley this one has always been my favorite. But Barry has been doing something special with it lately - it really stands out.
Weekend in New England was fantastic! What passion and emotion! Barry put everything he had into it tonight. Barry mentioned having a little trouble with his voice because of the dry air, but you couldn't tell on that song. The vocals were great. It was a show-stopper. There was a funny moment during the song - at the point where he sings "When can I touch you?" and people yell out "Now!" - he looked at the audience with a "come hither" look on his face as he sang it. I didn't hear anyone yell out "Now!" - but he did get a lot of cheers.

For Bandstand Boogie they went back to the Keely-Kye dance version. I like it both ways. It always seems fresh.

Looks Like We Made It was another show-stopper. Barry didn't even get to start the song before the audience started screaming. He got the cutest expression on his face, and then turned around to look at his band. They had to start the song over - and then the audience did it again. So Barry decided to play with the audience a little. There were a couple more false starts, lots more screaming, and then he finally started the song. Like WINE, this one had a lot of emotion and passion - and very sexy. Excellent performance.
They did New York City Rhythm again - this time it was a 3-way tie! I can't choose just one! LOL

Barry used Ready to Take a Chance Again as the dance song - the version with the longer dance segment. That's still very nice. Although, for some reason the non-dance portion of the song seemed short - not sure why. Maybe just because my attention was no longer on how the dance portion played out - this time I was savoring the song.

Somewhere Down the Road was just as beautiful tonight as it was on Tuesday. I *love* that song. It makes me want to cry - actually does make me cry - reminds me of things maybe I don't want to be reminded of. But it's still a beautiful song, and Barry is singing it perfectly. You could have heard a pin drop when he sang the last portion of the song (without music). In the past Barry has said he doesn't consider himself a great singer - Barry, go listen to yourself! It's exquisite - truly.
Actually, I was very impressed by his vocals throughout the night. There have been shows where listening to him sing gave me chills - this was one of those shows.

I forgot to mention the Mayflower segment from Tuesday night - sorry. But they did it again tonight. Something about this performance seemed extraordinary. Not sure what - can't put my finger on it - but everyone seemed to have taken it up a notch.
Barry wanted the Can't Smile Without You sing-a-long again. He said he "insisted" that we sing along with him (or did he say "demand"?). At any rate, then he said, "Am I going to have to come down there and spank you?" You can guess what the audience reaction to that was. About a third of the audience sang along - but then more and more kept joining him. He had most of us singing before the song was done.

The other show-stopper was Keep Each Other Warm. I love-love-love-love-love-love that song!!!! (Did I mention I love that song?) It's such a fantastic love song - the lyrics are just perfect. Barry was concerned about making a mistake with the lyrics, but he didn't. It was absolutely perfect. Doesn't seem fair to the rest of the show to say that it was the highlight of the night, so I won't say that. But I will say that it was very special.

Mandy and Could It Be Magic were also very emotional. Another fantastic performance. And he wore my favorite jacket again! I love that jacket!
The entire night was special - just as special as his birthday night.

One more show this week before a very long break. (I won't be here for next week's shows.) It's going to be especially hard this time. If he sings Somewhere Down the Road tomorrow night - well, everyone just better bring Kleenex for me!
