No signs of "dry throat" tonight.  Barry sounded wonderful.  And in his words, was looking beautiful, too.  (those might have been his words, but I'm in total agreement)

The audience was very responsive and appreciative - and loud at times.

Weekend in New England was beautiful.  No gentle Barry tonight - it was power ballad all the way.  It sounded great.  Barry put a lot into it.  There was nothing weak about the sigh tonight - in fact, when Barry did it, I heard an audience member behind me catch their breath in response to it.

Looks Like We Made It was sexy again - very sexy.  Everyone who has seen Barry perform the song in recent years knows that there are two places in the song where he can "go that way".  The first time is always relatively mild - the second time you're never quite sure how far he will take it.  But usually, even when Barry takes it to the max, he closes his eyes as if he were deep into the moment.  Not at this show!  His eyes were open and he was looking out into the audience...  I don't care if you're a good girl or not - looking into those eyes, listening to that voice, and watching that...  Uhm.... Well... Just watching...  He could have taken a nun to those "wild" places!  (Barry, if Santa doesn't come to see me, it's YOUR fault!)

The Grandpa Joe segment was fantastic again.  The audience seemed to enjoy Barry's monologue about Grandpa and the scratchy Happy Birthday record.  Barry even giggled during the playback.  And Barry's performance of I Am Your Child was so real, he wiped away a tear after he finished performing - don't think it was just acting, I think he really had to wipe away a tear.

The mostly civilian audience really seemed to enjoy Nature Boy - I could hear some people behind me quietly commenting on how Barry was silently singing along with himself, and how cute his smile was.  This One's For You was unique tonight - if anyone ever doubts Barry's ability to make the audience see and hear and feel what he wants - his ability to create a particular "reality" in the moment - they shouldn't.  Barry got a very well deserved standing ovation afterward.

New York City Rhythm was fun.  As I've said before, this has turned into one of my favorite segments of the show.  I love the upbeat music, the bright lights.  When Barry was dancing, he said, "This is my favorite part - do you think I should be on Dancing With the Stars?"  And, of course, the audience cheered.  Then he said, "This is the only step I know!"

The keyboardists were all awesome.  I like the different lighting that goes with each musician, too.  Ron P is green and Joey is kind of a purple - well, the lighting, I mean.  Okay, so the guys kind of look that color, too!  And Ron W is more of an amber.  Barry said they needed to give Joey a valium - he always calls him a wild man because his solo is always very artistically inventive.  And I think they need a new name for Ron P - he should be called "Mr Gershwin".  And then Ron W threw in a little extra at the end of his solo - it sounded kind of like a faster and fuller (meaning more robust chords, don't know what you would call that musically) version of the opening chords of I Write the Songs that they always play as Barry and the rest of the keyboard players gather around the piano for their high five.  Love it!

Yippee!  Barry sang Santa Claus Is Coming To Town again !  I was jumping up and down the way Kye was when he saw the photo of Santa and his reindeer.  Well, ok...  I wasn't really jumping up and down - but I was inside!

Barry again said the "bad girls" are coming to his house.  Seems I've been told that I qualify as a bad girl - not sure how my family and friends would feel about that... Ha!  Of course, I was also told that I'm bad because I'm so good.  ?!?!  Not even going to try to figure that one out - LOL!  Hopefully Barry agrees, though!

And I forgot to mention in my last review that Barry asked, "Kye, have you been a good boy this year?". And Kye responded, "Yes, I've been very good". And Barry said, "Oh, Kye - you're full of sh*t!". Barry!!!  I don't think Kye is the one who needs to worry about a visit from Santa!

Oh, wait...  Barry IS Santa! (hey, the twinkling blue eyes match!!).  Now, all you girls sitting there fantasizing about sitting on Santa Barry's lap to tell him what you want for Christmas, don't go there!  Oh...  What the heck... GO THERE!  I'm going with you!  (gee, between that and my response to LLWMI, maybe I *am* a bad girl after all!)

I tried to get a shot of the snow tonight.  Didn't turn out very well, but maybe you can see it a little bit.

I got to hear all of Because It's Christmas this time - yay!  So beautiful.  The kids in the choir were great.  I'll admit I'm not a kid person... (only child, raised on a farm with little interaction with other kids, okay?)  But I'm enjoying watching the faces on these kids as they sing with Barry.  Some look terrified, some look thrilled.  Some are singing, and some seem frozen.  And it's such a huge experience for them and their families.  But they all come alive when Barry starts moving them back away from the front of the stage and they start waving goodbye to the audience.  It's a very nice touch to the show.

I've forgotten now what other songs people were saying Barry has done during the Christmas segment.  Did he ever do Christmas Is Just Around the Corner?  That's now my favorite of all of his Christmas songs.  It's so upbeat - and the melody just makes feel feel good.  It just makes me happy all over. That would be cool to see.  In the past it's always really cute the way Barry performs it.  It would be awesome if we get it.  If not, they've been playing the song as we leave the theater each night.

Barry, Keely and Kye did Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer again.  It was even funnier at this show, I do believe.  Kye danced with the stool again while Keely and Barry were dancing together - something got them laughing, I'm not sure what.  But then Barry turned around and saw Kye and said, "Hey! Hey!"  And Kye quickly put the stool down, with an expression of "Oops!" on his face.  You have to wonder if they're having as much fun doing that bit as we, the audience, are having watching it.  Oh, and Kye did his high-pitched funny Santa voice again.  Note to Kye:  Dude!  If you go any higher, only the dogs are going to be able to hear you!  Ha!  What a visual that conjures up - Kye starts his Santa voice and dogs run onto the stage in response.  Okay, I've obviously gone off the deep end this morning.  (but it's *such* a fun visual image)

Barry was so funny during the dancing portion of the the sock hop segment again.  He's making fun of everything.  While Kye was doing his solo dance, Barry was doing his best Fred Astaire imitation of tap dancing.  So funny...  And when Keely slid threw his legs, Barry said (off mic), "That was close!"  Yeah, well - not as close as last night- LOL!  Both Barry and Keely cracked up after that, and continued to laugh into the "dances" portion of the segment.

Oh, and when Barry started doing the Twist, he said, "Ow!"

Barry did a great job with Mandy.  And I Write the Songs.  I loved the look on his face when IWTS started - he looked at the audience with mock surprise - it looked like he was thinking, "Oh, what's that?  There's more?"  LOL  Cute expression.  But actually, with a mostly civilian audience, they don't know what's coming next.  Interestingly enough, even the huge fans don't always catch all of the nuances and differences in the shows - so it wasn't just grandstanding on Barry's part.

Barry mentioned again about his Grammy nomination - he seemed so proud.  He should be!  He got a standing ovation from some of the audience.

Barry appeared to be having a lot of fun with Copa.  The backups are still hamming it up in the background.  As Barry sings about Rico, all the backups have horrified expressions on their faces and Keely lets out a scream.  Then when Barry sings "she lost her love" - Keely pretends to cry - and Kye REALLY pretends to cry, shaking his white hankie about!  At the last show, they seemed to turn up the lights on the backups during that moment, but I missed the shot.  At this show, I was ready for the shot, but didn't see the additional light.  Oh, well - I tried.

Lots of sounds of "appreciation" as Barry emerged in his tux for the last part of Copa.  The expression on his face was priceless - he SO knew we were all melting in our seats.  You know, if we thought he really believed it about himself, he wouldn't be nearly as attractive standing up there in that tux.  But since it appears that he's amused by our responses, it just makes him more handsome and cute all the time.

Why does the end of the show come so soon?  I made that comment after the show and another fan said, "It always does".  Yeah, but it seems like time is moving even faster now.

Note to Time: Slow down for this last show!  We want to savor every moment!
