Had a bit of a scary time - there was a big ticket snafu, which I won't elaborate on. But it worked out fine for
me - not so fine for some others.
The stand out song was Could It Be Magic - the full song, original version. It was beautiful, more than beautiful.
Barry's vocals were fantastic, very emotional and passionate. I especially loved the last verse - he softened his
voice and sang the song with so much feeling. He also improvised on the piano a little - again, beautiful.
Next stand out song was Weekend In New England - it's always beautiful. One of my favorites, too. This one was also
very emotional.
It was basically the standard Music & Passion show adapted for a larger stage. The lighting was even more spectacular
than in Vegas. It was beautifully done. The colors were vivid - I couldn't believe how well you could see them in the
photos. The effects on the screen at the back of the stage were much more visible than they are in Vegas, so they
played a more important part (to me, anyway). I wasn't as impressed with the piano rising up during WINE as I was
with the lighting during the song.
Barry took You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' out of the 60's medley. I didn't even notice it at the time - I guess I was
too wrapped up with the show.
Some new costumes for the backups - I liked them. What I also liked is that spotlights were on the backups frequently.
For instance, when Kye does his hip-hop thing at the end of the show, we could actually see him.
The costumes that the girls were wearing for Copa were unbelievable. They looked sharp, but I wouldn't have wanted to
wear them - I kept having flashbacks (hot flash? LOL I have enough of those, thank you!) to the old I Love Lucy
episode where Lucy is determined to wear the headdress in the production number - I as afraid I would see one of
the girls stumbling down the stairs! But they were great.
Funniest moment in the show - during the funny cigarette bit, Barry said that the only drug he uses is Lipitor! LOL!
Me, too - wanna share a prescription, Barry?
Barry closed the show with an emotional Old Friends and Forever and a Day. Something about the entire show
seemed more heartfelt than usual. Even though the actual show wasn't much different than what I see in Vegas,
it was worth the trip just to see his emotion. Could he be that great of an actor? I don't think so - I think
it was genuine.
